Rex/Anakin Skywalker

One half of my current OT3 :) I love love love the close bond Rex and Anakin have, though I refuse to actively fridge Padme to make it happen - if you write this one all I ask is that you do the same. This is the sort of ship that I can't see really growing into itself until after the war, in a No-Order 66 AU, or maybe in the quiet moments of downtime between campaigns. I adore how steady Rex is, like a rock, and really love exploring Anakin's unique and intense connection to the Force, especially in terms of how others see it from the outside in all aspects - platonically, romantically, sexually, you name it I want it. If you're interested in writing both this and Padme/Anakin, aka my above mentioned OT3, look at the next two ships as well.

Ideas

• Not Really Unrequited Love vibes: Rex suffering in silence as he pines for his superior, certain that his affection is unreciprocated. Except, surprise, it isn't! Maybe it takes Anakin until after the war, maybe it takes a long talk with Padme to realize it, maybe it takes almost Falling or Falling for about five minutes before un-Falling, but eventually he does.
• Rex and Anakin fall into a situation in which some casual sex is a very clear conclusion, be it horny sparring or sexual comfort/stress relief after a battle or awkward erections in a tight space or what. Rex is a little scared of how attracted he is to his General, and Anakin is scared of hurting Rex or not fighting their inherent power imbalance hard enough.
• Order 66 happens a little bit, but only for a few minutes before Anakin un-Falls and stops it from reaching full momentum. Rex and Anakin have a tearful reunion that culminates in life affirming sex because they're so glad they're both alive they're finally willing to put aside everything that's been keeping them apart. Padme Amidala/Anakin Skywalker

The other half of my current OT3! Similarly to what I said with Rex/Anakin, I adore the canon connection these two have (though not the tragic ending). I do, of course, prefer Padme/Anakin in combination with Rex/Anakin, but as long as you aren't actively erasing any possibility of Rex/Anakin within your fic/art I'll be happy! Just leaving out mentions of anything along those lines works great to avoid doing so, if you're worried about it. If you do want to write both, I've added a ship section below this one for the V-shaped OT3.

• I love an Anakin who's absolutely in big huge mushy love with his wife (aka canon Anakin lmao), always interested in making her feel good, putting her pleasure first (though not intentionally ignoring his own), etc.

• I really love switchy, bottom leaning, and/or service top Anakin, Domme Padme when it suits her, and Rex as a top-leaning switch!
